Financial Aid

Scholarships, Loans, Fellowships and Grants
Earning your graduate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine prepares you to reap the rewards and challenges of the health sciences profession.  The School of Medicine’s Office of Student and Career Services is dedicated to helping every eligible student take full advantage of the financial resources available to pay for educational expenses.  With the rising cost of higher education, it is important to explore multiple sources of financial assistance.  Upon acceptance into the Program the first step in the financial aid application process is completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Advanced Nurse Traineeship Grants
The Program applies to the Health Resources Services Administration each year for these grants and if awarded allocates the funds among enrolled students.  Student distribution amounts depend on the size of the grant awarded the Program.

Veterans Benefits
Veterans and children of deceased or disabled veterans who meet regular admission requirements may be eligible to receive educational assistance benefits through the Veterans Administration . Application for benefits may be made through the University Student Affairs Office.
Students are urged to apply for benefits at least 45 days prior to the beginning of the semester.

Footnote: Federal programs are subject to revision, cancellation, or expansion by the Congress, and the others are subject to today’s economic climate.
